On February 23rd, 2023, we lost a Dear Friend and Supporter. Louistine Marie Larry made her transition after a lengthy illness. Louistine was an EC-3 Co-Founder and one of our original Board Members. I recall Louistine attending workshops with me at New Detroit on developing a non-profit organization. We would spend many hours discussing how to merge our Social Service programs and the Arts Guild into one organization. My interest was Community Outreach and Louistine's interest was Cultural and Performing Arts. She assisted with the organization of talent shows and Concerts that helped to make the performing arts available to all in the community. Our respective areas of interest led to the name "Ebenezer Community and Cultural Center"
~ Edna Walker, CEO & Founder
One of our original dedicated Board Members, Blanche was a backbone in support of services and programs offered by EC3 in the community. Her leadership and hands-on approach to membership serves a model for future board member and volunteer recruitment. Dearly loved by clients, children, staff, and volunteer her smile and pleasant demeanor will be dearly missed by us all.
~ D.Breck Johnson, Board Chair
